Discover the story of Kinderdijk and the people behind it. Walk along the boezems, enjoy the beautiful view and meet our passionate volunteers. With your visit and support you help us to keep Kinderdijk for the future.
The story of Kinderdijk goes back to the Middle Ages and is intertwined with the Dutch fight against the water. The millers used the mills to pump water from the polder to keep the area dry. This area has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1997.
The preservation of Kinderdijk would not be possible without the dedication of our volunteers. Volunteers play an essential role in preserving this historic heritage and ensuring that the mills remain in good working order.
Onze sponsoren dragen bij aan de financiering van onderhoud en restauratieprojecten om de molens en hun omgeving te behouden voor toekomstige generaties.
Today, our Kinderdijk-cafe and the Giftshop in the Visitor Center are open. All other visitor locations will be open again tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
