By car to Kinderdijk UNESCO World Heritage? Visitors can park close to the entrance of the windmill area during the low season.

Parking

For your visit to Kinderdijk UNESCO World Heritage, you can use the paid parking area right next to the entrance. Our parking attendants will guide you to a suitable spot for your car or motorcycle. Once you get out, you can walk straight towards the famous windmills. Parking costs €9.50 per car. Please note: there is limited parking available and it is not possible to reserve a space in advance.

Travelling from Rotterdam? Consider taking the WaterShuttle for a relaxing and scenic trip to Kinderdijk.

Weekend Closures of the Bridge over de Noord

If you plan to visit us on a weekend in the coming period, please be aware of possible extra traffic around Alblasserdam. Rijkswaterstaat has started renovating the Bridge over de Noord (N915).

A total of six weekend closures are scheduled, followed by a sixteen-day closure in February. Please note: this schedule may change, so always check your route before you travel or consider visiting via the WaterShuttle from Rotterdam.

 

Weekend Closures:
• 21 – 24 November 2025
• 28 November – 1 December 2025 (reserved for possible work overruns)
• 5 – 8 December 2025
• 12 – 15 December 2025 (reserved for possible work overruns)
• 9 – 12 January 2026
• 16 – 19 January 2026

All weekend closures are from Friday 10 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.

 

Sixteen-Day Closure:
• 13 February – 2 March 2026
