Where do I park my car/motorbike?

Cars and motorbikes can be parked at the parking lot in Alblasserdam.
Address: Marineweg 3, Alblasserdam.
From this location, shuttle buses run daily to and from the entrance of the windmill area (between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.).

 

The shuttle service is included in the parking ticket.

Do we need a ticket for the shuttle bus?

The shuttle bus service is included in your parking ticket. Your parking ticket serves as your shuttle bus entrance ticket for all individuals in the car.

Where does the shuttle bus depart from?

The shuttle bus departs from the entrance of the parking lot in Alblasserdam and goes to the Visitor Center at the World Heritage Site.

Are there alternatives to the shuttle?

From the parking lot, you can also cycle to the entrance of the World Heritage site (5 km). Bicycle rental is available at the parking lot as an alternative to the shuttle bus.

 

Please note: Bicycle rental is not included in the parking ticket and must be paid separately.

By camper

I have a camper ticket. Where do I park?

There are two parking locations available for visitors with a camper:

 

Alblasserdam
This parking lot is about 5 km from Kinderdijk and includes a shuttle service to and from the entrance of the windmill area.

Address: Marineweg 3a, Alblasserdam

Opening hours: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. (overnight stays are not allowed)

 

Nieuw-Lekkerland
This parking lot is 1.7 km from the windmill area and is exclusively for campers and tour busses. There is no shuttle service available to and from this location.

Address: Lekdijk 432a, Nieuw-Lekkerland

Opening hours: 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. (overnight stays are not allowed)

Where does the shuttle bus depart from?

The shuttle bus departs from the entrance of the parking lot in Alblasserdam and goes to the Visitor Center at the World Heritage Site.

 

Please note: There is no shuttle service between the parking lot in Nieuw-Lekkerland (1.7 km) and the World Heritage Site.

Do we need a ticket for the shuttle bus?

Your parking ticket is the boarding pass for the shuttle bus between the parking lot in Alblasserdam and the entrance of the World Heritage Site. This ticket is valid for all occupants of the camper.

Can we bring our own bikes or rent one?

From both parking lots, you can cycle to the entrance of the World Heritage site. It’s about 5 km from Alblasserdam and 1.7 km from Nieuw-Lekkerland. The route takes you directly past the windmills.

 

If you did not bring your own bike, you can rent one at both parking locations. Please note: Bicycle rental is not included in the parking ticket and must be paid separately.

Waterbus

I have a Waterbus return ticket. What are the departure times?

The Waterbus sails directly from Rotterdam (line 21) to Kinderdijk. From Dordrecht, you can reach Kinderdijk with a transfer (line 20 + 21).
